Job summary

Pearson seeks a Specialist - Science (Physical Sciences) to develop K-12 assessments for state and district clients. You will act as a content and assessment expert within Content Development, collaborating with educators, committees, and partners to ensure standards-based assessments are accessible to all students.

The role involves item development, use of AI to improve content, and coordinating with writers and educators to align with standards and cognitive complexity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in physics, chemistry, or equivalent experience.
• Five years of elementary or secondary teaching preferred.
• Professional knowledge of content area and educational trends.
• Experience in large-scale educational measurement preferred.
• Familiarity with development, processing, scoring, and reporting of large-scale assessments.
• Demonstrated excellence in AI-supported content development or strong potential to leverage AI.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across grade levels for large-scale assessments.
• Help develop item, passage, and test specifications and blueprints.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support development and ensure quality and accessibility standards.
• Collaborate with team to integrate AI-generated assets in assessment workflows.
