Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist – Science (Physical Sciences) within Content Development to serve as a content and assessment expert for K-12 state and district clients. You will develop and review content-specific test items and collaborate with educators and partners to create accessible assessments that meet standards-based requirements.

You will leverage AI-powered tools to enhance content quality, participate in item development planning, and support customers with content assessment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in physics, chemistry, or equivalent experience.
• Five years’ teaching experience in content-specific area preferred.
• Strong knowledge of content development and educational trends required.
• Experience with large-scale educational measurement preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review test items across grade levels, including MC, TE, E-R, and performance tasks.
• Help develop item specifications, test blueprints, and ancillary documents.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support assessment content quality and accessibility.
• Collaborate with team to integrate AI-generated assets in workflows.
• Select and train item writers to align with standards and cognitive complexity.
• Participate in customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise.
• Assist with test construction and review of test forms; engage in planning meetings.
• Stay current with AI technologies relevant to educational content creation.
