Job summary

Pearson seeks a Specialist – Science (Physical Sciences) to develop and review K-12 assessment content for state and district clients. You will act as a content and assessment expert, applying AI tools to create accessible, standards-based items across grade levels.

Collaborating with educators, psychometricians, and Pearson teams, you will lead item development, test blueprints, and forms, while guiding writers and educators and staying current with AI innovations to elevate content quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in physics, chemistry, or equivalent experience.
• 5 years’ teaching experience in elementary or secondary education preferred.
• Strong knowledge of content development and educational trends.
• Experience or potential to leverage AI in content creation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across grade levels for large-scale assessments.
• Develop item/passage specifications, test blueprints, and ancillary documents.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support assessment content quality and accessibility.
• Collaborate to integrate AI-generated assets into workflows and provide feedback.
• Select, train, and manage item/passage writers and educators.
• Assist in customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise.
• Support test construction and review of test forms.
• Consult with customers and coordinate with Pearson groups.
• Stay current with emerging AI technologies for content creation.
