Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist, Content Developer (English Language Arts) to join the Asset Creation team. You will serve as both a content and assessment expert to develop K-12 assessments for state and district clients, applying standards-based content across grades and collaborating with educators, committees, and business partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or equivalent experience required
• 5 years’ teaching experience in elementary or secondary education preferred
• Strong knowledge of content area and educational trends
• Experience with large-scale educational measurement preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience with prompting and evaluating AI-generated content

Responsibilities

• Develop and review content-specific test items across grade levels for large-scale assessments
• Help develop item, passage, test specifications, item development plans, test blueprints, and ancillary documents
• Leverage AI-powered tools to support development, review, and enhancement of assessment content
• Collaborate with team members to integrate AI-generated assets in assessment workflows
• Help select, manage, and train item/passage writers and educators
• Facilitate customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise
• Assist in test construction activities and review of test forms
• Consult with customers in planning and reviews
• Work with test development managers, other content developers, psychometricians, and Pearson groups
• Stay current with emerging technologies relevant to educational content creation and AI
• Perform other duties as assigned
