Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist, Content Developer (English Language Arts) to develop K-12 assessments for state and district clients as part of the Asset Creation team. You will act as a content and assessment expert, leveraging AI to enhance content and ensure accessibility.

This is a 12-month limited term position, with responsibilities across item development, standards alignment, and client collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in education, content-specific area, or equivalent experience.
  • Five years’ teaching experience in elementary or secondary level preferred.
  • Professional knowledge of content area and educational trends.
  • Experience with large-scale educational measurement preferred.
  • Demonstrated excellence in AI-supported content development or readiness to leverage AI.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review test items across grade levels for large-scale assessments.
  • Develop item specifications, test blueprints, and ancillary documents.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools to create and refine assessment content with accessibility standards.
  • Collaborate with team to integrate AI-generated assets into workflows.
  • Select, train, and manage item writers and educators per standards.
  • Facilitate customer meetings and provide content assessment expertise.
  • Stay current with emerging educational technologies including AI.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree in education or content-specific area
Teaching experience (5 years)
