Job summary

Bowhead seeks a Systems Administrator to provide customer support and technical assistance to users supporting a Research, Development, Test and Evaluation Program at NSWCDD in Dahlgren, VA. The role includes AD account management, hardware/software troubleshooting, ITSM ticketing, and desktop support for secure environments.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of professional IT experience.
• High School Diploma required, or BA/BS preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task and assist others with IT issues.
• Knowledge of LAN/WAN installation, maintenance and administration.
• Understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
• Linux knowledge desirable but not required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• DoD Directive 8570/8140 IA Level II certifications (e.g., Security+ CE, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA Security).
• Familiarity with DoD networking and security accreditation processes.
• Experience with Windows Active Directory is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist users with AD account creation, password resets, and token/PKI troubleshooting in JWICS environment.
• Troubleshoot hardware, peripherals, and software connectivity before escalation.
• Log inquiries and tickets into ServiceNow.
• Provide desktop support for standard apps, email, and network drives/printers.
• Escalate unresolved issues to ONI Hopper or DIA desks with diagnostics.
• Track ticket status and provide updates to users.
• Disseminate outage updates as local outages occur.
• Coordinate repair/return/replacement of secure terminal equipment with ONI Hopper logisticians.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and physical security standards.
• Audit JWICS hardware assets and support DoD records.
• Report security anomalies or tampering to security officers.
• Provide new-user orientation on equipment and support procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
