Job summary

North Middlesex Regional High School in Townsend, MA is seeking a Junior Varsity Softball Coach to support a development-focused program under the Head Varsity Coach and Athletic Department.

The JV Coach will plan practices, develop players for future varsity competition, and uphold the program's expectations and safety policies. This after-school/evening role requires collaboration with staff and a commitment to academics, sportsmanship, and district/MAIAA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Previous softball playing and/or coaching experience.
• Knowledge of softball fundamentals, rules, strategies, and player development.
• Ability to teach and develop student-athletes with varying levels of experience.
• Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
• Commitment to student-athlete academic achievement and sportsmanship.
• Completion of district and MIAA coaching certifications prior to participation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct organized practices focused on skill development, team concepts, conditioning, and game preparation.
• Develop players to prepare for future varsity competition.
• Collaborate with Head Varsity Coach and Athletic Department to maintain program priorities.
• Provide instruction and constructive feedback to student-athletes.
• Teach offensive/defensive fundamentals and situational concepts for JV level.
• Supervise practices, games, and team activities; ensure player health and safety.
