Job summary

North Middlesex Regional High School in Townsend, MA is seeking a qualified Junior Varsity Girls Lacrosse Coach to join our athletics staff. The role partners with the Head Varsity Coach and Athletic Department to provide a positive, development-focused experience for student-athletes.

The JV coach will plan purposeful practices, develop players for future varsity competition, and align with the program's philosophy and safety standards. Immediate start and after-school/evening commitments.

Qualifications

• Previous girls lacrosse playing and/or coaching experience.
• Knowledge of girls lacrosse fundamentals, rules, strategies, and player development.
• Previous high school or competitive lacrosse coaching experience preferred.
• Ability to effectively teach and develop student-athletes with varying levels of experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct organized, purposeful practices focused on individual skill development, team concepts, conditioning, and game preparation.
• Develop student-athletes with the goal of preparing them for future varsity competition.
• Implement the philosophy, terminology, systems, expectations, and developmental priorities established by the Head Varsity Coach.
• Work collaboratively with the varsity coaching staff regarding player development, roster movement, and overall program needs.
• Provide instruction and constructive feedback to student-athletes in individual and team settings.
• Teach offensive, defensive, transition, draw, goalie, and special-situation concepts appropriate for the JV level.
• Coach and supervise all assigned practices, games, and team activities.
• Establish clear expectations for effort, accountability, attendance, teamwork, sportsmanship, and behavior.
• Promote academic responsibility and positive representation of North Middlesex.
• Maintain appropriate supervision of student-athletes before, during, and after practices and contests, including locker rooms and athletic facilities.
• Communicate professionally with student-athletes, families, coaches, administrators, officials, and opposing programs.
• Follow and reinforce the Athletic Department's communication protocol.
• Prioritize student-athlete health and safety and follow all applicable emergency, concussion, weather, and return-to-play procedures.
• Assist with equipment, uniforms, field setup, inventory, and other operational responsibilities associated with the program.
• Attend required practices, contests, coaching staff meetings, Athletic Department meetings, and program activities.
• Work collaboratively with coaches at all levels to promote consistency and development throughout the girls lacrosse program.
• Follow all North Middlesex Regional School District, Athletic Department, Mid-Wach League, and MIAA policies, rules, and procedures.
• Perform additional program-related duties as assigned by the Head Varsity Coach or Director of Athletics.
