Job summary

Durham Academy is accepting applications for a part-time Junior Varsity Assistant Boys Basketball Coach. The season runs from late October through early February. The successful candidate will assist with tryouts, help plan practices, and support game strategy while driving a minibus to road games.

Reports to the JV Head Coach and Director of Athletics. A commitment to safety and teamwork is required. Experience at interscholastic or collegiate level coaching or playing basketball is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience playing or coaching basketball at interscholastic or collegiate level.
• Commitment to providing a safe, healthy environment for practice and play.
• Ability to maintain positive, collaborative relationships with students, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tryouts and team selection in consultation with JV Head Coach and Varsity staff.
• Help plan and execute effective practices.
• Assist Head Coach with game strategy.
• Drive a minibus to all road games.
• Collaborate with coaches, DA Athletics trainers, staff, administration and faculty.
