Job summary

Department of Juvenile Justice seeks a Juvenile Program Manager to supervise staff and guide rehabilitation efforts for offenders in custody or on probation. The role involves coordinating assessments, treatment plans, and educational/work stipulations as part of case management.

The position emphasizes conducting pre-hearing investigations, writing progress reports, and coordinating with courts and treatment providers to ensure program adherence.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Five (5) years of job-related experience in a social services delivery setting, including one (1) year in a lead worker or supervisory role.
• Or seven (7) years of direct case management experience with offenders and families.
• Must possess and maintain State of Georgia P.O.S.T. certification within six months.

Responsibilities

• Interview probationers and parolees regularly to evaluate progress and compliance.
• Recommend remedial action or initiate court action for non-compliance.
• Administer drug and alcohol tests to verify treatment program compliance.
• Prepare and maintain case folders for assigned offenders.
• Discuss with offenders issues like substance abuse and anger management.
