Job summary

Florida Department of Juvenile Justice in Pensacola is seeking a Juvenile Probation Officer to rehabilitate youth in custody or on probation. You will perform case management, make referrals, and assess risk and needs to support court decisions.

Responsibilities include contacting youth and families, preparing histories and reports, and testifying at hearings as required. A four-year background in related fields and CPR/First Aid certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience working directly with adolescents in criminal justice, social services, or education.
• Preference for a bachelor’s degree or higher; or an associate degree with two years’ relevant experience.
• Must maintain CPR and First Aid Certifications and meet background checks requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform case management, referrals, and assessments for youth in custody or on probation.
• Initiate contact with youth, families, victims, and law enforcement; conduct home and school visits.
• Prepare social histories, court reports, referral letters, and related documents; testify as needed.
