Job summary

The State of Georgia is hiring a Juvenile Probation Parole Specialist II in Warner Robins, GA. You will work under the Department of Juvenile Justice to assist in rehabilitation and ensure compliance with probation terms.

Responsibilities include interviews, court actions for non-compliance, drug testing, case management, and preparing reports. The role requires relevant education and GA POST certification within six months.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of job-related experience in a human services delivery setting.
• Or four (4) years of direct case management job-related experience working with offenders and their families in a human services delivery setting.
• Or two (2) years of experience at the lower-level Juv. Probation/Parole Spec 1 (SSP130) or position equivalent.
• Must possess and maintain State of Georgia P.O.S.T. certification within the first six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Interview probationers and parolees regularly to evaluate progress and adherence to probation terms.
• Recommend remedial action or initiate court action for non-compliance.
• Administer drug and alcohol tests to verify treatment compliance.
• Prepare and maintain case folders for each offender.
• Counsel on substance abuse and anger management issues.
• Conduct pre-hearing investigations and testify regarding offenders’ backgrounds.
