Job summary

State of Georgia's Department of Juvenile Justice seeks a Juvenile Probation Parole Specialist II in Lakeland, GA. Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field with two years of social services experience.
• Or four years direct case management experience with offenders and families.
• Or two years at the lower level Juvenile Probation/Parole Spec 1 or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Interview probationers and parolees regularly to evaluate progress and compliance.
• Recommend remedial actions or initiate court action for non-compliance.
• Administer drug tests and document results for treatment programs.
• Prepare and maintain case folders for assigned offenders.
• Discuss factors like substance abuse or anger management with offenders.
• Conduct investigations and provide testimony in court when needed.
• Inform offenders about conditional release requirements and stipulations.
• Write progress reports and perform legal issue inquiries.
• Counsel clients with substance abuse issues and arrange treatment services.
• Supervise community-based sentences and field visits as required.
