The Juvenile Probation Parole Specialist II role with the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice is based in Lakeland, GA, focusing on rehabilitation planning, monitoring probationers and parolees, and coordinating treatment services. You will perform routine interviews, assessments, and reporting to support compliance and public safety.

Responsibilities include drug testing, court testimony, and collaboration with treatment providers, schools, and law enforcement.

Qualificações

• Associates degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of job-related experience in a human services delivery setting; Or four (4) years of direct case management job-related experience working with offenders and their families in a human services delivery setting; or two (2) years of experience at the lower-level Juv. Probation/Parole Spec 1 (SSP130) or position equivalent.

Responsabilidades

• Interview probationers and parolees regularly to evaluate progress and compliance with probation contracts and rehabilitation plans.
• Recommend remedial action or initiate court action for non-compliance.
• Administer drug and alcohol tests and verify participation in treatment programs.
• Prepare and maintain case folders for each offender.
• Discuss issues like substance abuse and anger management with offenders.
• Conduct pre-hearing investigations and testify regarding backgrounds and recommended sentences.
• Inform offenders of conditional release requirements such as visits and restitution.
• Write reports describing offenders' progress and evaluations.
• Investigate legal issues and write reports or evaluations.
• Counsel clients with substance abuse issues and arrange for treatment services.
• Supervise individuals on community-based sentences and perform field supervision.
