Job summary

The Florida Department of Juvenile Justice seeks a Juvenile Probation Officer in Sanford to work with court-involved youth on probation or parole, develop rehabilitation plans, and coordinate services.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience working directly with adolescents in criminal justice, social services, or education.
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide social services to assist in rehabilitation of juvenile law offenders in custody or on probation or parole.
• Initiate contact with youth, family, victims, and law enforcement when referrals are received.
• Conduct home and school visits as part of information gathering and family involvement.
• Conduct and document screenings to identify youth risk, needs, and need for further evaluations.
• Formulate case management strategies and make service referrals.
• Appear in court and testify as needed.
• Complete required reports and forms used by the department and courts.
