Job summary

Clermont County Juvenile Probation seeks a Juvenile Probation Officer to manage and supervise youth offenders on probation, ensuring compliance with court orders and program conditions.

The role involves collaborating with families, schools, and community agencies, conducting drug and DNA tests, preparing reports, attending court hearings, and providing transportation as needed. A college degree in criminal justice and related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• College degree emphasized in criminal justice and social services or 5+ years of related experience.
• Evening checks on probationers may be required as determined by supervisor.
• May be on-call 24/7 as determined.
• Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one before employment date.
• Typing and Windows-based computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise youth on probation and monitor compliance with court orders.
• Meet with parents and youth in crisis to address problems.
• Conduct drug testing and DNA testing and prepare reports.
• Refer youths to service agencies and coordinate with schools, Children’s Services and law enforcement.
• Attend court hearings and testify when required.
• Visit probationers at school, detention centers, and home.
• Provide transportation for probationers and parents.
