Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) is seeking a dedicated professional to assist in implementing intake, probation, and parole services for youth referred to DJJ. You will coordinate daily operations, supervise staff, and ensure proper case management across diversion pathways.

Under limited supervision, you will promote restorative justice practices, advocate for youth and families, and participate in ongoing professional development to strengthen safe communities

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree and related experience.
• Knowledge of federal/state laws and regulations pertaining to juvenile offenders and the juvenile justice system.
• Ability to organize and maintain a caseload.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and supervises day-to-day operations for youth referred to DJJ for diversion, intake, probation or parole supervision.
• Ensures staff conduct interviews/meetings to assess youths’ functioning, strengths, and needs.
• Supports staff in providing alternatives to incarceration through graduated responses and STAP.
• Serves as on-call agent on rotation.
• Develops comprehensive supervision plans including diversion, intake, probation, or parole.
• Advocates on behalf of youth and families to ensure timely, appropriate services.
• Maintains case files and JJMS data entry; uploads documents.
