Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) seeks an Intensive Supervision Officer to support youth and families through intensive supervision services and Pre/Post program work. You will conduct screenings, coordinate interventions, and promote restorative justice within a collaborative, state-wide framework.

You will maintain case files, participate in training, and travel as needed to various jurisdictions across the state. A bachelor's degree in a social science is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a social science.
• Knowledge of federal/state laws pertaining to juvenile offenders.
• Ability to organize and maintain a caseload.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and MS Office apps.
• Willingness to travel statewide.
• Able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Intensive Supervision Officer for juveniles as assigned.
• Supervise intake, probation and parole cases per agency policy and supervision charts.
• Provide screenings and assessments to identify needs and interventions.
• Develop community partnerships to meet youth needs.
• Provide alternatives to incarceration while promoting community safety.
• Promote electronic monitoring and graduated responses.
• Promote job readiness and restorative justice practices.
• Maintain case files and JJMS data entry; prepare reports.
