Job summary

The State of South Carolina's Department of Juvenile Justice seeks a dedicated professional to assist in the development and implementation of intake, probation, and parole services for youth referred to DJJ. Under limited supervision, you will coordinate day-to-day juvenile supervision activities, guide staff, and ensure compliant case management for youth transitioning back into the community.

• Bachelor’s degree in social science required.
• Knowledge of juvenile justice laws and regulations.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Ability to organize and manage a caseload.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day operations for youth referred to DJJ for diversion, intake, probation, or parole.
• Supervise staff interviews/meetings with youth, family members, and service providers.
• Support alternatives to incarceration through graduated responses and STAP.
• Serve as on-call agent on rotation.
• Develop comprehensive supervision and needs-based case management plans.
• Advocate for youth and families to ensure timely services.
