Job summary

Allied Universal in Columbia, SC is seeking a Juvenile Corrections Security Officer - Entry Control. You will manage entry points, verify credentials, issue badges, and monitor access at a government juvenile justice location.

This full-time, day-shift role pays $17.00 per hour and requires a valid driver’s license; a background check and drug screen are required where permitted by law.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience required.
• A valid driver’s license required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check required by federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized individuals by following security procedures and site policies.
• Control access to the facility by verifying identification, credentials, and visitor entry requirements.
• Monitor entry/exit points, alarms, cameras, and other access-control systems; report irregularities.
• Respond to incidents calmly and follow reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of access points, interior areas, and perimeter.
