Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Juvenile Correctional Facility Officer - Entry Access in Columbia, SC. You will manage entry points, verify credentials, screen visitors, and monitor activity at a government juvenile services location.

Responsibilities include providing professional customer service, using technology to document incidents, and responding to incidents per established protocols. Full-time shifts and hourly pay are offered with scheduling across evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, youth residents, and/or contractors while carrying out security-related procedures.
• Control access to designated buildings by verifying credentials and screening visitors.
• Monitor entry points, alarms, cameras, and communications equipment and report issues.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations following established protocols.
• Conduct regular patrols of buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized access.
