The Office of the State’s Attorney for Baltimore City is seeking to fill the position of Office Service Assistant II in the Misdemeanor Jury Trial Division (MJT). This position is located at 120 E.

The Office Service Assistant supports the Assistant State’s Attorneys in MJT jury trials and appeals, handling administrative duties such as scanning, collecting mail and faxes, preparing subpoenas, file maintenance, photocopying, phone coverage and other

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills (oral and written).
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
• Punctual and reliable.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with Court & SAO processes.
• Experience with court e-filing system (MDEC).

Responsibilities

• Intake all cases from District Court including jury trial prayers and appeals.
• Disburse files to assigned attorneys.
• Prepare entries of appearance.
• Assist attorneys with charging and discovery requests.
• Request discovery (BWC, 911, CCTV, medical records).
• Use Word, Excel and other software in case preparation.
• Daily update of the sign-out board.
• Assist ASAs by communicating with the court and police.
• Organize and update the bench warrant file cabinet.
