Job summary

Ian Martin Group seeks a Junior Server Administrator (Windows) in Spring, TX. You’ll be the first contact for a server team supporting process control systems at 70+ terminals worldwide, handling day-to-day access and triage to keep engineers focused on long-term projects.

This is a 12-month on-site contract with W2 pay at $30–$35/hour. Responsibilities include Active Directory account management, ticket routing, issue triage, participating in SWAT calls, and routine Windows server maintenance.

Qualifications

• Basic Active Directory skills for accounts, passwords, and groups.
• Working knowledge of Windows Server.
• Hands-on IT experience in help desk, desktop support, or server administration.
• Experience working tickets in any ticketing system.
• Clear written and spoken communication, and comfort with teams in other time zones.
• Strong organization when handling several requests at once.
• Ability to work onsite full time in Spring, TX.

Responsibilities

• Manage user access in Active Directory. Create accounts, reset passwords, update group memberships.
• Watch the team’s shared inbox and ticket queue. Respond to requests and route to the right person.
• Triage incoming issues, judge severity, and elevate to engineers when needed.
• Join SWAT calls and outage bridges during business hours, coordinating with local contacts.
• Handle minor server fixes and routine maintenance on Windows servers, including patches.
• Create and track change requests following the team’s change management steps.
• Coordinate with global teams, including a partner team in Kuala Lumpur.
• Keep documentation current, including procedures and knowledge articles.
• Support data cleanup, CMDB records, SharePoint sites, and license tracking.
