Job summary

Cox Automotive in the United States is seeking an Inspector Apprentice to verify VINs, inspect exterior and interior condition, and document results for online vehicle exchanges. You will perform post-sale inspections and assist with data entry to support the OVE process.

The role requires a high school diploma, basic automotive knowledge, and the ability to pass an inspector certification within 90 days; a valid driver's license is required, with day shifts at a Cox location on site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Minimal knowledge of automotive body and mechanical work.
• 0-1 years of body shop, mechanical, claims adjuster or estimating experience.
• Must pass Inspector Certification Exam within 90 days.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Verify vehicle identification and enter accurate vehicle information into the inspection system limited to correct VIN, mileage and sub series.
• Inspect vehicle equipment and options, documenting results including damage, missing or inoperable items.
• Inspect and record vehicle exterior condition, including but not limited to tires, frame, glass, panels and mechanical components.
• Inspect and record the vehicle interior condition, including but not limited to seats, dashboard and options.
• Complete and verify data entry in support of documentation of vehicle condition.
• Perform and document post sale inspections (PSI) and walk around inspections in support of online vehicle exchange (OVE) process.
