Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP in State College, PA is seeking an Entry-Level Transportation Engineer to join our Transportation Group. You will develop roadway alignments, prepare plans, and support traffic engineering tasks under mentorship from senior engineers on local projects with potential national exposure.

The role offers hands-on training, collaboration across disciplines, and opportunities to grow technical skills in MicroStation, AutoCAD, and traffic analysis software.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil/transportation degree required or actively pursuing.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Experience with roadway design software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of roadway alignments, profiles, and typical sections.
• Prepare construction plans for roadway geometrics, MOT, and erosion control.
• Perform drainage and stormwater design tasks with senior engineers.
• Assist with traffic designs (signals, ITS, signing, markings, lighting, work zones).
• Conduct traffic analyses using HCS, Synchro, Sidra, or PTV products.
• Support transportation planning studies for multimodal systems.
