Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP is seeking an Entry-Level Transportation Engineer in State College, PA. You will collaborate with senior engineers on projects ranging from local intersections to major interchanges and corridor programs. You’ll receive mentorship, hands-on training, and opportunities to gain broad exposure across highway and traffic engineering.

The role emphasizes growth, teamwork, and learning, with national/international project exposure and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor (or higher) of Science degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Candidates actively pursuing their degree are eligible to apply.
• 0-4 years of relevant experience; internship preferred.
• Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD preferred.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of roadway alignments, profiles, and typical sections.
• Prepare construction plans for roadway geometrics, MOT, and erosion control.
• Perform drainage and stormwater design tasks with senior engineers.
• Assist with traffic designs including signals, ITS/TSMO devices, signing, and markings.
• Support data/analysis for travel demand modeling using software like CUBE/TransModeler.
