Job summary
Fehr & Peers seeks an Entry-Level Transportation Engineer or Planner in San Francisco to build a strong professional foundation by applying standard techniques under experienced staff guidance. The role emphasizes curiosity, collaboration, and learning, with exposure to transportation planning, engineering, and design projects.
You’ll engage in transportation analysis, reporting, site visits, and client-facing meetings while developing skills in software tools and industry practices, with growth
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or in-progress master’s in transportation, civil or electrical engineering, urban and regional planning, or related fields.
- Relevant coursework in transportation topics and a preferred EIT for engineers.
- Experience or exposure to field work, traffic operations analysis, signals, planning, biking, transit, and land use policy.
- Familiar with software tools listed above and programming in Python or R.
- Strong written and verbal communication across teams and clients.
Responsibilities
- Conduct transportation analysis and prepare reports and memos.
- Participate in meetings and prepare presentations and outreach materials.
- Support project coordination and management activities.
- Engage with professional organizations and industry activities.
- Conduct site visits and collect field data.
- Contribute to Fehr & Peers internal R&D projects.
- Learn and adopt new tools and technologies while maintaining judgment.
