Job summary

Fehr & Peers in San Francisco is seeking an Entry-Level Transportation Engineer or Planner to build a strong foundation by applying standard techniques under guidance from experienced staff. You will contribute to transportation planning, design, and operations while developing skills and professional confidence.

Responsibilities include analysis, report writing, meetings and public outreach, field data collection, and collaboration with project teams as you grow into greater responsibility over

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in transportation, civil, electrical engineering, urban planning, or related field.
• Relevant coursework in transportation, planning, geography, or economics; an EIT is preferred.
• Experience or exposure in field work, traffic operations analysis, signal design and planning.
• Proficiency with Excel, GIS, CAD tools, and transportation analysis software.
• Strong written and verbal communication and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Conduct transportation analysis and prepare reports, memos, and other technical deliverables.
• Participate in meetings, including presentations and public outreach materials.
• Support project coordination and management activities.
• Engage with professional organizations and industry activities.
• Conduct site visits and collect field data.
• Learn and apply new tools and technologies in daily work.
