Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Early Career Transmission Line Engineer in Fort Lauderdale, FL to join our Power Delivery Overhead Transmission Line Team. You will work on transmission line design for new lines, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optics, using PLS-CADD and field data to model line routes.

The role emphasizes developing expertise in structure loading, materials, construction drawings, and coordination with clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline; GPA 3.0+ is a plus.
  • 0 to 1 year of relevant post-education experience.
  • Strong written and oral English communication skills.
  • Familiarity with design/build concepts and civil construction laws/regulations.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team and manage multiple tasks.
  • Experience with basic technical writing and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Designs transmission projects up to 765 kV, including layouts and calculations.
  • Support project execution planning, budgets, and schedules.
  • Prepare and review drawings, specs, and construction documents.
  • Coordinate with utilities, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Apply QA/QC procedures and ensure safety policies.
  • Travel to field sites as needed and participate in training.
