Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Traction Power Engineer in Philadelphia, PA to assist in the design and analysis of traction power systems for rail and transit networks. You will work closely with experienced engineers on real-world projects in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities include CAD drafting, calculations, reports, site visits, and collaboration with multiple disciplines to ensure code compliance and project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with traction power projects is preferred.
• EIT license is a plus.
• Familiarity with AC/DC power concepts and electric power systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and analysis of traction power distribution systems.
• Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment layouts using CAD software.
• Perform voltage drop, current flow, and power system calculations.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and construction documents.
• Conduct field inspections and site visits for data collection.
• Assist testing and commissioning of traction power equipment.
• Create as-built drawings and maintain project documentation.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (NESC, IEEE).
