Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Traction Power Engineer to join our Philadelphia team. This role focuses on the design and analysis of DC/AC traction power systems for rail, LRT, or other electrified networks, with mentorship from senior engineers and exposure to real projects.

You will develop schematics and layouts using CAD tools, perform voltage and current calculations, support reports and construction documents, and participate in field inspections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Engineering in Training (EIT) License preferred.
• Experience with Traction Power projects preferred.
• Familiarity with power systems theory and circuit analysis.

Responsibilities

• Assist design and analysis of traction power distribution systems (substations, OCS, third rail).
• Develop electrical schematics and wiring diagrams using CAD tools.
• Perform voltage drop, current, and power system calculations.
• Support preparation of technical reports, specifications, and construction documents.
• Conduct field inspections and observe construction activities.
