Qualifications

• Comfort with an ATS / CRM, LinkedIn, and Microsoft 365; strong data accuracy.
• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Communications, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate interview schedules and gather feedback; assist with offers and onboarding steps.
• Help startups define staffing plans and write job descriptions; track local talent trends.
• Support recruiting events and outreach to build candidate pipelines.

Job Summary

We are seeking a P/T Junior Talent Consultant to support a TalentRise client in Syracuse, New York, with a focus on helping start-up and emerging companies meet their staffing needs. This is a contract role; you will be employed by TalentRise and assigned to support this client engagement.

This is a hands-on, learning-oriented role for an early-career recruiter who enjoys a fast pace and wants to grow in a consultative talent practice. You will source and screen candidates, coordinate the hiring process, and help growing companies build their teams, all while delivering the client and candidate experience TalentRise is known for.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Client Support

• Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for the Syracuse client and its start-up partners, building positive working relationships with founders, hiring managers, and HR contacts.
• Participate in intake meetings to understand role requirements, hiring priorities, and the culture and pace of each start-up.
• Provide regular status updates on open roles, pipeline activity, and hiring timelines, escalating questions or risks to senior consultants as needed.
• Support full-cycle recruiting for a range of individual contributor, specialist, and early-stage leadership roles across start-up and emerging companies.
• Source and engage candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, referrals, networking, community and university partnerships, and the TalentRise candidate database.
• Conduct phone and video screens to assess skills, experience, motivation, and fit for a start-up environment, and prepare clear candidate summaries.
• Keep candidate and pipeline data accurate and up to date in the ATS / CRM and client reporting tools.
• Prepare and present candidate profiles to the client that are thorough yet concise, highlighting each candidate’s relevant experience, skills and fit.

Candidate Experience & Coordination

• Deliver a responsive, professional candidate experience that reflects TalentRise’s reputation for integrity, communication, and care.
• Coordinate interview schedules, gather feedback, and support offer logistics in partnership with the client and senior consultants.
• Help prepare new hires for a smooth start by coordinating pre-start steps and onboarding handoffs with the client.

Start-up Staffing Support

• Help start-ups define staffing plans, write and refine job descriptions, and prioritize hiring as they scale.
• Track local talent market trends in Syracuse and Central New York, including compensation data and talent availability, to inform client hiring decisions.
• Support recruiting events, job fairs, and outreach that build candidate pipelines for the client’s start-up community.

What You Bring

Required

• Experience: 2-3 years of recruiting experience (agency or in-house).
• Organization: Ability to manage multiple open roles at once, stay on top of details, and meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
• Client orientation: A service-minded, professional style and the confidence to work directly with founders and hiring managers.
• Sourcing skills: Familiarity with LinkedIn, job boards, and basic Boolean search, with a willingness to learn advanced sourcing techniques.
• Screening skill: Comfort conducting candidate phone and video screens and summarizing findings clearly.
• Communication: Clear, professional written and verbal communication; able to represent TalentRise to clients and candidates alike.
• Technology: Comfort with an ATS / CRM, LinkedIn, and Microsoft 365, with strong attention to data accuracy.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred

• Experience recruiting for start-ups, small businesses, or high-growth companies.
• Familiarity with the Syracuse and Central New York business and talent community.

Physical Demands, Work Environment, and Travel:

• This role operates in a modern, hybrid work environment, utilizing technology such as laptops, video conferencing tools, cloud-based applications, and collaborative platforms. Flexibility for remote work is supported, while in-office settings may still involve the use of standard office equipment like computers, telephones, and printers.
• The physical demands described here are representative of those required for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While carrying out job duties, the employee must regularly be able to speak clearly and hear effectively to communicate with others. The role also frequently requires standing, walking, using hands for fine motor tasks, and reaching with arms.
• This position requires regular local travel to client sites in the Syracuse, NY area, and occasional travel to represent the Company, as business needs.
• Must possess a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and a serviceable vehicle suitable for business transportation.
