Job summary

Shield Consulting Solutions is seeking a Junior Systems Engineer to support TO-005 RAD and help plan, design, and implement a mission-critical system. You will work with customers, systems engineers, developers, and the UX team to ensure features are defined, built, tested, and delivered.

This role requires collaborating with the development team and stakeholders in an Agile environment to ensure timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Ability to elicit, analyze, and document functional requirements from customers and stakeholders.
• Translate requirements into actionable Jira user stories and epics for development teams.
• Experience conducting functional/manual testing of application features.
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting technical work to non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with software development concepts (e.g., Java or JavaScript frameworks, RESTful microservices).

Responsibilities

• Elicit and document functional requirements from government customers and stakeholders.
• Translate requirements into well-defined user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Curate and groom the sprint backlog for development teams.
• Provide developer support and address blockers during sprints.
• Conduct initial testing to validate features against requirements.
• Present new developments to government customers and gather feedback.
• Collaborate with UX on designs reflecting usability considerations.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and support the development lifecycle.
