Job summary

KBR Mission Technology Solutions is seeking a Jr. System Engineer to collaborate across disciplines, ensuring subsystems are integrated into a viable system. You will validate mission requirements and provide feedback to subsystem teams as an advisor to the customer.

This role requires an active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph eligibility, a relevant engineering degree, and strong communication skills to support space systems development and compliance with applicable standards.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain CI Polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Self-starter who can partner with multiple teammates.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Understanding of planning and integrating secure solutions based on legal, policy, and compliance directives.
• Familiarity with development of requirements for system performance, availability, scalability, manageability, and security for mid-to-large-scale systems.

Responsibilities

• Identify, investigate and resolve system issues related to space systems.
• Collaborate with analysts, project leads, and customers to enhance operational efficiency and system reliability.
• Assist in developing system requirements and specifications aligned with High-Level Mission objectives.
• Participate in trade studies to identify improvements in system performance, architecture, and software/hardware solutions.
• Contribute to engineering tradeoff analyses and assist in formulating COAs considering operational constraints.
• Gather information to create technical documents that support project deliverables.
• Stay updated on agency, national, and international standards related to space systems development to ensure compliance and integration.
• Provide support throughout the systems engineering life cycle, managing risks and developing mitigation plans to guarantee mission success.
• Track project activities for systems engineering, software/hardware development, and deployment, ensuring effective command and control integration.
• Engage in continuous improvement efforts to optimize ground processing and mission management practices.
