Job summary

Shield Consulting Solutions is seeking a Junior Systems Engineer to support TO-005, RAD, and assist with planning, design, and implementation of a mission-critical system. You will work directly with customers, systems engineers, developers, and the UX team to define, build, test, and deliver mission-driven software capabilities.

You will participate in Agile ceremonies, curate sprint backlogs, and help remove blockers while ensuring features meet requirements.

Qualifications

Ability to elicit and document functional requirements from stakeholders.
Translate requirements into Jira user stories and epics for development teams.
Experience validating features through functional/manual testing.
Familiarity with Agile software development and collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

Requirements gathering and decomposition from government customers and stakeholders.
Translate requirements into well-defined user stories and acceptance criteria.
Curate and groom sprint backlog ensuring appropriate sizing and sequencing.
Serve as a point of contact for developers and remove blockers during sprints.
Conduct initial functional testing to validate features against requirements.
Present new developments to government customers and gather feedback.
Partner with UX on designs, ensuring usability considerations in requirements.
Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (planning, demos, retrospectives).
