Job summary

Red Alpha is seeking a Junior Systems Engineer to contribute to the planning, design, and implementation of a mission-critical system for government customers. You will work with systems engineers, software developers, and UX professionals to translate mission needs into defined software capabilities.

You will support requirements development, Agile planning, developer coordination, testing, and customer demonstrations through the lifecycle, with up to one day of telework per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or closely related field, or 4+ years of applicable experience.
• Ability to elicit and document functional requirements from stakeholders.
• Experience translating requirements into Jira user stories and epics.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document functional requirements with government stakeholders.
• Translate requirements into Jira user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria for the development team.
• Support sprint planning and backlog grooming to ensure stories are scoped and prioritized.
• Collaborate with developers to address blockers and questions during sprints.
• Conduct initial functional testing to validate features against requirements.
