Job summary

Reflexive Concepts, LLC is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer II to join our team, supporting mission-critical government and enterprise applications built on modern platforms.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, define requirements, document processes, and help ensure secure, reliable, and scalable systems across cloud and on-prem environments.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph as a minimum requirement.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field; fourteen years of demonstrable experience required.
• Five additional years of technical experience can substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
• Experience on projects with similar hardware/software processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support applications built on the Pega Platform and modernize legacy systems.
• Participate in Agile practices: sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and Government leadership to set priorities and document processes.
• Develop system engineering documentation and support user acceptance testing.
• Translate requirements into user stories in Jira with clear acceptance criteria.
• Plan and coordinate releases, deployments, and migrations across environments.
• Address compliance, vulnerabilities, and security with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and engineering teams.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and improve reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Create clear technical documentation for configurations, procedures, and solutions.
• Communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across Government, engineering, and mission teams.
• Balance priorities while ensuring security, reliability, and successful delivery of outcomes.
• Apply a design mindset to evaluate solutions, architectures, interfaces, and dependencies.
• Proficient with Confluence, Jira, and Jira Advanced Roadmaps for requirements management and planning.
• Experience with AWS environments and cloud-based architectures is preferred.

Description:

• Join an established, collaborative team supporting a suite of applications built on Pega Platform, a leading low-code enterprise platform used by major government agencies and Fortune 500 organizations to automate business processes, manage complex workflows, modernize legacy systems and deliver engaging customer experiences.
• Contribute to an Agile development environment by participating in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and iterative development cycles that promote continuous delivery and rapid feedback.
• Collaborate with cross-functional technical and mission teams in a fast-paced environment where initiative, adaptability, sound judgement, and a willingness to take on complex challenges are highly valued.
• Partner directly with development teams and Government leadership to establish priorities, analyze requirements, define and document business and technical processes, develop systems engineering documentation, and support customer engagement and user acceptance testing.
• Analyze existing applications to derive and document requirements that enable development teams to design and build modernized replacement capabilities; develop user stories in Jira and establish clear, detailed acceptance criteria to support successful delivery.
• Support the planning and coordination of application releases, deployments, and migrations across environments, identifying dependencies, risks, readiness considerations, and potential operational impacts to help enable successful transitions.
• Partner with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and engineering teams to address compliance requirements, resolve vulnerabilities, remediate active security findings, and maintain the security and operational integrity of applications and supporting environments.
• Troubleshoot complex application and system issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions that improve system reliability, performance, maintainability, and overall operational stability.
• Develop and maintain clear technical documentation covering system configurations, operational procedures, troubleshooting approaches, engineering decisions, and technical solutions to support effective knowledge sharing and long-term system sustainment.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable information while building strong working relationships across Government, engineering, and mission teams.
• Balance competing priorities and changing mission needs while maintaining a strong focus on system reliability, security, performance, and successful delivery of customer outcomes.
• Apply a strong application design mindset throughout the development lifecycle, helping teams thoughtfully evaluate solution approaches, architecture, interfaces, dependencies, scalability, security, and maintainability before significant development begins.
• Demonstrate proficiency with Confluence, Jira, and Jira Advanced Roadmaps to support requirements management, technical documentation, backlog development, dependency tracking, and cross-team planning and delivery.
• Experience working in AWS environments; familiarity with cloud-based application architectures, services, integrations, and deployment considerations is preferred.
