Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an entry-level Substation Structural Engineer in Billings, MT to join the Mountain Civil/Structural Substation Team. You will assist with data collection, design development, and construction support for building and infrastructure projects.

You will utilize MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, InRoads, Geopak and related tools while ensuring safety and quality. This role supports energy delivery projects and may involve occasional travel.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
0–1 year of post-education experience.
Familiarity with design/build concepts and codes.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing site data for project development and design.
Support evaluation of site conditions to ensure structural soundness.
Provide entry-level technical assistance on design requirements and safety for end users.
Generate documentation using drawings, 2D/3D illustrations, and field notes.
Adhere to safety guidelines and project procedures.
Complete training on assigned tasks.
Collaborate with team to meet project objectives.
Travel may be required depending on project needs.
