Job summary

WSP Global Inc. in Billings, MT seeks an Early Career Substation Mechanical Engineer to join the Billings Substation Team. You will participate in detailed design for low to very high voltage substations and contribute to project deliverables while aligning with WSP’s standards and culture.

The role supports QA/QC, learning client standards, and collaborating in a team environment. Ideal candidates have a related degree and 0–1 year of experience, with relocation not required.

Qualifications

• BSME (BS Mechanical Engineering) or BSMET (BS Mechanical Engineering Technology) degree from an accredited university.
• 0-1 years of experience.
• Candidates should enjoy living in the Billings area, or have a desire and ability to relocate there with minimal assistance.
• Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform the detailed design of low to extra-high voltage substations including one-line diagrams, station layouts, sections/elevations, and related plans.
• Support QA/QC for deliverables to clients.
• Shall learn, understand, and adhere to client standards and processes while working individually or within a team to complete complex designs.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
