Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Entry Level Substation Structural Engineer in Billings, MT, with consideration for Overland Park, KS and Denver, CO. You will join the Mountain Civil/Structural Substation Team and contribute to design, development, and construction of structures for power and infrastructure projects.

You will assist with data collection from sites, perform basic analysis, help with drawings and documentation, and learn design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and ArcGIS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
• Familiarity with design/build concepts.
• Familiarity with structural/civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from sites, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, and other matrices for project development, design, and construction.
• Assist with basic professional structural engineering work related to research and inspections of site conditions to ensure conformance with standards and permits.
• Perform routine engineering functions and provide entry-level technical assistance on design requirements and operating strategies for safety and functionality.
