Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Experienced Substation Electrical Engineer for our Billings, MT office (Bozeman, MT also considered) to join the Power & Energy Substation Team. You will contribute to planning, design, and construction support for utility transmission and distribution substations.

The role involves preparing one-line/three-line diagrams, GA drawings, grounding and lightning protection, and coordination with civil and structural disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of post-education experience in electrical engineering for substations.
• Authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design and review substation physical design and P&C packages including diagrams and schedules.
• Prepare GA drawings, layouts, and equipment arrangements with civil/structural teams.
• Develop grounding, lightning protection, and cable routing per applicable standards.
• Produce documentation and calculations for internal and client submissions.
• Support site walkdowns and field verifications as needed.
