Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Engineer in Columbus, OH. You will join project teams designing high and extra-high voltage substations and transmission systems, and prepare procurement specifications for major electrical equipment. The role involves occasional travel to client and supplier sites and construction coordination.

The position offers a hybrid layout with three days in the office and two days remote, plus a potential relocation package depending on location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or Chemical Engineering with relevant coursework.
• Experience applying electrical engineering principles to power transmission designs.
• FE exam certification or Engineer-in-Training is valued.

Responsibilities

• Design and review high voltage and extra-high voltage substations and transmission systems.
• Prepare specifications for procurement of major electrical equipment and services.
• Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and site coordination as needed.
