Job summary

WSP is seeking an Early Career Substation Electrical Engineer in Minneapolis, MN to join the Power Delivery Substation Team. You will contribute to detailed design and QA/QC, supporting client objectives and project delivery.

Ideal candidates hold a BSEE or BSEET with 0–1 year of experience, possess strong English communication, and are willing to travel. This entry‑level role offers growth within a global engineering practice focused on HV substations and related systems.

Qualifications

BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) degree from an accredited university, preferably with a power option.
Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering to build on.
Strong command of English with good written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform the detailed design of low to extra-high voltage substations including one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, station layouts, and more.
Support QA/QC for deliverables to clients.
Adhere to company code of conduct and policies; work individually or in teams on complex designs.
