Job summary

DeSimone Consulting Engineering in the San Francisco area is seeking an Engineer to contribute to structural design across a variety of projects. Under the guidance of senior engineers, you’ll perform structural analysis, assist in design development, and support project delivery from concept through construction.

This role offers hands-on experience with Rhino and Revit, field observations, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• 1+ years of relevant coursework in structural analysis and design.
• Internship experience with a structural engineering firm.
• Coursework in concrete, steel, wood and masonry design.
• Must pass basic engineering skills test.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design and analysis using software tools such as Revit and Rhino.
• Model building foundation and superstructure systems and design structural elements.
• Prepare structural drawings, technical reports, and documentation.
• Conduct field observations and inspections under senior guidance.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs for accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain clear records of all design calculations and work products.
• Communicate effectively with teammates, clients, and management to ensure project success.
• Support project planning and contribute to internal operations, including timesheets and compliance with safety standards.
