Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an entry-level structural engineer to join a multidisciplinary team focused on nuclear facilities, plant upgrades, and related modifications. You will apply structural analysis and design to steel frames, supports, and concrete members, while learning from experienced engineers in a dynamic workplace.

You will build expertise through coursework and hands-on projects, including wind and seismic loading, with opportunities to travel for reviews and site verification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Structural/Civil Eng with strong materials, analysis, steel and concrete design.
• Completion of coursework in steel and concrete design.
• Knowledge of loads analysis for structural supports and design integrity.
• Ability to apply structural engineering principles to project designs.
• Familiarity with codes and producing technical drawings and models.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel and concrete design.
• Prepare design calculations and develop specifications.
• Support designers with drawing development and use of design tools.
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, supports, and foundations.
• Conduct loading analyses including wind and seismic.
• Receive training and mentorship on meaningful project assignments.
• Travel to client/vendor offices or plant sites for reviews and coordination.
