Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer to join our nuclear facilities design team. You will apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel and concrete design, and work with engineers from multiple disciplines on varied client projects.

You will prepare calculations, develop specifications, and support drawing development, using advanced tools to analyze steel frames, concrete members, and foundations, including wind and seismic loads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science in Structural/Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• Completion of coursework in steel and concrete design.
• Knowledge of loads analysis for structural supports and design integrity.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; MS Office proficiency.
• ABET accreditation and FE exam are valued.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design calculations, develop specifications, and support drawing development.
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, concrete members, equipment and foundations.
• Analyze loading conditions including wind and seismic.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers on projects for nuclear facilities.
• Travel to client or vendor sites for design reviews as needed.
