Job summary

Schillings is seeking a highly motivated Junior Staff Accountant to join the accounting department at our St. John, IN location for our fast-growing company.

Reporting to and working directly with the Director of Finance and Accounting, the Accountant will assist with monitoring internal control policies and company procedures, as well as assisting the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable departments. This on-site role offers excellent benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Proficient with department software and QuickBooks preferred; POS systems knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with finance and accounting functions including AP/AR, cash flow, journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, GL, balance sheets, income statements, payroll taxes, and tax reporting.
• Monitor internal controls, policies, procedures, and reporting systems to maximize financial asset returns.
• Track daily cash balances, cash flow, and forecast future cash needs.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
