Job summary

Amentum seeks a junior software engineer or Linux system administrator to support multiple projects, set up development environments, patch software for security compliance, and update libraries. You may learn to configure equipment for lab and production environments.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in CS or related field and at least 1 year of experience; TS/SCI with poly is required for this role. Prefer experience with Docker, Maven, GitLab, and CI/CD processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical discipline required.
• 1 year of experience with a bachelor's degree.
• Minimal java experience and Linux administration experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems.
• Review and test software components and resolve problems.
• Provide input on system design and trade-offs including hardware/software considerations.
• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
• Modify software/configurations to add new features or capabilities.
• Debug configuration and software issues encountered.
