Job summary

Visionist Inc. is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join our team on a major PRIME contract. You will contribute to AI-driven readiness workflows, prototype features, and support the SDLC under guidance from senior engineers.

You will develop automation scripts in Python/Bash, document technical work, and help connect AI tools with organizational data and tools. A TS/SCI clearance is required to work on this program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline; additional 4 years of experience may substitute degree.
• 3 years of experience in Software Engineering
• Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language, preferably Python or Bash
• Knowledge of Git, testing, and debugging
• Basic knowledge of operating systems and networking concepts
• Familiarity with AI/LLM tools and their applications in workflow automation
• Ability to develop clear, organized technical documentation
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn from senior engineers and SMEs

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with training staff and stakeholders to gather requirements and identify opportunities for process improvement
• Develop and test AI-driven solutions to streamline readiness and certification workflows under the guidance of senior engineers
• Configure AI harnesses and develop custom Skills and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers to connect AI workflows with organizational data and tools
• Support the software development lifecycle, including prototyping, coding, testing, and delivering assigned features
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools using Python and Bash
• Utilize AI tools to assist with drafting, reviewing, and maintaining user documentation
• Create technical documentation, user guides, and training materials to support adoption of new AI tools
• Apply team coding standards, version control practices, and code review processes
