Job summary

Visionist, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer with an AI focus to join a funded program on a major PRIME contract. The role requires an Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph and involves Python-based agentic integrations, AI model orchestration, and data-driven tooling for mission impact.

You will collaborate with analysts and engineers across design, data science, and operations to deliver rapid, trusted solutions. Growth opportunities and a strong team culture are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline; additional 4 years experience may substitute.
• 8 years of experience in Software Engineering.
• Proficiency in Python, including JSON handling, REST API integration, and data manipulation.
• Experience using HTTP-based APIs to query and access data.
• Knowledge of AI development concepts, including prompt engineering, context management, structured outputs, and tool/function calling.
• Experience with Git, Jira, and Confluence.
• Experience presenting data analysis results to customers.
• Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD automation.

Responsibilities

• Develop Python-based agentic integrations leveraging multiple AI models, APIs, and data sources in production environments.
• Build tools and agentic workflows using frameworks such as PydanticIA, LangGraph, and DeepAgents.
• Collaborate with mission stakeholders to gather requirements and develop tailored solutions.
• Navigate customer data types to identify, extract, and integrate relevant information.
• Collaborate with software engineers to test workflows, troubleshoot issues, and recommend solutions.
